QPilot started as a side project by Uri Maxima — an attempt to answer a simple question: why is it so hard to ask questions about your own data?
THE BACKSTORY
AI is going to change how we work with information. That's not a prediction anymore — it's happening. And it became clear to me that the people who benefit most won't be the ones with the fanciest models.
They'll be the ones who control their own data.
If your data is locked in systems you can't access, scattered across tools that don't talk to each other, or gated behind people who have to translate your questions — you're not going to be able to use any of this. The AI doesn't matter if you can't feed it.
I started building QPilot because I wanted to be ready. I wanted a way to ask questions directly, get real answers, and actually own the relationship with my data. Not wait for someone else to give me access to my own information.
The more I built, the more I realized this wasn't just my problem. A lot of people are about to find out that data access is the bottleneck — and by then, it might be too late to catch up.
I'm building this solo for now. It keeps things focused. Every feature ships because it solves something real, not because it sounds good on a roadmap.

How we think about building
Transparency matters
If you're responsible for a metric, you should be able to see how it's calculated. No black boxes.
Your data stays yours
Read-only access. We don't store your actual data. You see exactly what we see — the query, nothing more.
Stay curious
The best insights come from asking questions you weren't supposed to ask. The tool should encourage that.
Keep it simple
Complex problems don't always need complex solutions. Sometimes you just need to ask the right question.
